Kumarakom

Kumarakom is a popular tourist destination located in the Kottayam district of Kerala. Alappuzha

Alappuzha (formerly known as Alleppey) is another popular tourist destination located in the neighbouring district of Alappuzha. Alappuzha, also known as the Venice of the East, has always played an important role in the maritime history of Kerala. It is renowned today for its house boats, boat races, backwater vacations, and beaches. Alappuzha Beach is a popular location for picnics. The houseboat cruise in Alappuzha is a very enjoyable activity. The houseboats found in the backwaters of Alappuzha are an updated version of the traditional 'Kettuvallam' and have been outfitted with all the amenities of a good hotel room, such as furnished bedrooms, modern bathrooms, cosy living rooms, a kitchen, and even a fishing balcony. While on a houseboat, one can enjoy an uninterrupted view of life in the backwaters.

Thekkady 

With its lush valleys, spice-scented plantations, and rare flora and fauna, Thekkady is one of Kerala's most popular tourist destinations and is located is in the neighbouring Idukki District. The Periyar forests of Thekkady are one of India's finest wildlife sanctuaries. It is one of the oldest tiger reserves in the country, and Periyar's forests are adorned with endangered species, such as White Tigers. Thekkady provides opportunities for boating, trekking, camping, and other exciting activities. Periyar Tiger Trail, adventure trekking and camping, border hiking, bamboo rafting, and jungle patrol are all available here. Thekkady is reputed for its spice plantations, where visitors can learn about cultivating and processing spices such as cardamom, pepper, and cinnamon. Thekkady is also well-known for its Ayurvedic treatments and massages, and visitors can indulge in various body and mind-rejuvenating treatments.
